The newest online feature of the Baltimore City website
is a resource for residents and communities concerned with public
safety in Baltimore. The site, called 4 Steps for Fighting Crime,
has consolidated links to find methods of fighting crime. The four steps are:

residents can play an even bigger role in making the city safer for
everyone when they are empowered with the knowledge and tools they
need to make a difference.

Baltimore Police Tag Program

The Baltimore Police Department has a program for reporting motorists that are engaged in prostitution or drug activity. Note the plate number, color, and make of the car, and the date, time and location. The registered owner of the car will receive a letter like the one shown here. Baltimore City Police

Bolton Hill is in the Central District, one of the 9 police districts in Baltimore City. Sgt. Charles Hess often attends the monthly MRIA meetings as do our Community Service and Neighborhood Services officers. Detectives Owens & Dull handle and have all burglary, robbery, and armed crimes information within Central District.

Police Appreciation Event

Community appreciation, although expressed throughout the year, culminates in a summer crab feast for police officers, their families, and Bolton Hill residents. This occurs at the Swim Club with the date and time announced in the Bolton Hill Bulletin.

Police Community Council

Formed in February, 2000, the Council brings together all of the communities in Central District to coordinate safety efforts, set priorities, and work in conjunction with the BPD and other city agencies.

Benefits District

Provides patrols and escort service within the four Midtown Communities: Bolton Hill, Madison Park, Mt. Vernon, and Charles North.

Providers Council

Provides a forum where businesses and institutions in the Midtown area (Bolton Hill, Madison Park, Mt. Vernon, and Charles North) can share crime prevention information.

Central Neighborhood
Services Center

Coordinates the services of several city agencies including community police officers. Located at 1901 Pennsylvania Avenue, the center also provides assistance with code enforcement, permits, and sanitation problems.
